Flood & Home insurance

The majority of homeowner policies exclude rising water. Flood insurance is a separate policy that can cover the building and the contents of your most valuable financial assets like home or business.

Floods are known to happen anywhere, just a few inches of floodwater can cause up to $20,000 in damages. A flood is a cause of a rising body of water like a lake or beach due to a natural disaster. Rain damage from a storm or hurricane is separate coverage.

Extra information

Waiting period for your coverage:

Typically, there’s a 30-day waiting period from date of purchase until your flood insurance policy goes into effect. Unless the escrow or mortgagee is paying then the flood policy is effective on that date it was bound without a waiting period.
